Select a country to examine each of the following topics: find two (2) norms find one (1) example of social stratification find one (1) example of unspoken language In Japan two norms that are very interesting are unwelcome mats and that all books are sealed. In Japan around tourist areas they put unwelcome mats for foreigners. This is almost like a do not  disturb sign outside their house. In Japan they want it to be quiet and most mats say please be quiet so they can have their peace in their home The other norm in Japan is that all books are sealed in a plastic wrap. This practice prevents people from spending long periods of time browsing magazines without making a purchase In Japan the social stratification is split up into three classes, upper class, middle class and lower class. The way that defines what social class you are in is based on power, money and social status. Each class is then divided even further. The upper class is divided into two different c...

The Enron scandal was one of the largest falls of a company of all time. Enron at its peak sold for $90.75 a share and then dropped to $0.26 a share after declaring bankruptcy. The way that the company ran into this problem was because of the personal ethics  of the company’s CEO.The CEO Jeferey Skiling hid the financial loses using market to market accounting. They manipulated the numbers claiming the fair value was higher than the actual cost. This is important to personal ethics because depending on what someone's personal ethics are determines how they will run into problems and if they will follow the rules and laws of a country. A company that ran into problems when it came to environmental pollution issues was Volkswagen. Volkswagen lied about the figures when emissions testing was being conducted. The way that they did this was by installing a device to trick the system into thinking that the cars did not emit as much carbon dioxide as it did. This is important because ...

Japan is an ancient society who has sought to modernize itself since WWII due to American influence. Their blend of the tranquility of the past and the amenities of the future have made them a market to which many companies in America as well as around the world have looked to have their staple in the economy. The country is constantly growing and has economic stability that looks to last for a very long time. This creates a great opportunity for new companies to come in because they are very aware of foreign products and tend to embrace them but also may cause a problem due to their loyalty to the existing products in the country if they don’t understand the people and culture. If a company learns how to understand the culture then they will become successful. This artificial intelligence company should enter the market due to the growing interest in technology and lack of competitors in the field.      Japan is 364 thousand square kilometers which is split up i...
